About Me
Hi, I’m Allison, but most people call me Ally! My love for animals started early—I grew up caring for fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, and dogs. Over the years, I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, worked in grooming salons and veterinary clinics, and even began my college studies as an Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine major.
Currently, I work full-time from home as an underwriter, but my passion for animal care never faded—that’s why I took on a relief position at a local veterinary emergency clinic, where I’ve been working for the past few years. I love being a source of support for both animals and their humans, especially during their most challenging moments.
I live in Shakopee with my partner, Austin, our three kids—Emery (13), Skylaar (10), and Zorah (4)—and our two fur babies, Oreo (a poodle) and Belle (a terrier mix). With 20 years of experience caring for animals, I’m especially skilled in working with geriatric pets and those needing medication.
My mission is simple: to provide pet parents with peace of mind by offering dependable, high-quality care. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and happy while you're away.
Do you require a meet and greet to schedule services?
A: While I don’t require a meet and greet to schedule services, I do strongly recommend setting one up prior to the first date of in-home pet sitting to ensure everyone is comfortable and your dog(s) get along with mine.
Do you have a fenced-in backyard?
A: Yes, my backyard is fenced. The fence height is 4ft so if your pup is a jumper, please include that information when booking so I can be sure to make a special note to do potty walks instead.
Is it required that pets are spayed/neutered?
A: For in-home pet sitting, female dogs older than 6 months are required to be spayed. I’m able to host intact males of all ages. I can also consider female dogs who aren’t spayed on a case-by-case basis with additional charges.
What vaccinations are required for in-home sitting and drop-in visits?
A: Rabies vaccinations are required for ALL dogs 6 months and older and cats that go outdoors. Bordetella is required for all dogs that will be staying at my home. DHPP (distemper/parvo) is required for all puppies 6 months and under whether in-home or drop-in.
Do you offer in-home pet sitting for rabbits and cats?
A: At this time, I only offer drop-in visits for rabbits due to restricted space inside my home, and drop-in visits for cats due to allergies (I am also unsure how my dogs will react to cats).
Do you offer drop-in visits for species not listed on the website?
A: I do not offer any drop-in services for species other than those listed on the website at this time, but I do have plans to expand services to other animals in the future. Stay tuned!
Is your business insured?
A: Yes, I am fully insured.
What experience do you have working with animals?
A: I’ve worked with cats, dogs, pocket pets, and exotics (reptiles and birds). I have extensive knowledge in veterinary care along with experience in grooming (mainly dogs). I am comfortable administering medications although there is a medication administration charge for injectable medicine.
Do you offer grooming services for in-home pet sitting?
A: I don’t offer grooming services; however, I can provide a bath along with ear cleaning, nail trimming or grinding (if your pet tolerates it), and a sanitary shave as a complimentary service if requested.
How long will my pet be alone during in-home pet sitting?
A: I currently work full-time from home, so your pet will rarely ever be alone except for times I will be away doing drop-in visits (no more than an hour at a time at most).
What are some important things clients should know when booking with your company?
A: All pets are allowed on furniture and treated as though they are my own pet. I do not kennel my dogs, but I do have a couple of crates for dogs up to 30-40lbs if they are used to sleeping in one at night. I have plenty of toys, treats, beds, and blankets but I encourage you to bring any items that would make your pet’s stay feel more comfortable. Food is not provided and needs to be supplied. I utilize a visit report for drop-in visits so pet parents can know how the visit went. I also like to send picture updates as well.
