Do you require a meet and greet to schedule services?
A: Yes, a meet and greet is required only for dogs for boarding, daycare, and drop-in visits. It is optional for all other species.
Do you have a fenced-in backyard?
A: Yes, my backyard is fenced. The fence height is 4ft so if your pup is a jumper, please include that information when booking so I can be sure to make a special note to do potty walks instead.
Is it required that pets are spayed/neutered?
A: For boarding and daycare, dogs older than 6 months (9 months for larger breeds) are required to be spayed/neutered. Intact males/females will be considered on a case by case basis and an additional fee may apply.
What vaccinations are required?
A: The city of Shakopee requires all dogs who are boarding to be current on vaccinations for rabies, bordetella, and distemper. Rabies is required for dogs and cats who will receive drop-in care.
Do you offer boarding for rabbits and cats?
A: At this time, I only offer drop-in visits for rabbits due to limited space inside my home, and drop-in visits for cats due to allergies (I am also unsure how my dogs will react to cats).
Do you offer drop-in visits for species not listed on the website?
A: Yes! I am confortable with most species (small animals or pocket pets, reptiles, birds, and amphibians). Please reach out to me with any questions or if you want to confirm I am able to provide services for your pet.
Is your business insured?
A: Yes, I am bonded and fully insured.
What experience do you have working with animals?
A: I’ve worked with cats, dogs, pocket pets, and exotics (reptiles and birds) over the past 20 years. I have extensive knowledge in veterinary care along with experience in grooming (mainly dogs). I am comfortable administering medications although there is a medication administration charge for injectable medicine.
Do you offer grooming services for in-home pet sitting?
A: I don’t offer grooming services; however, I can provide a bath along with ear cleaning, nail trimming or grinding (if your pet tolerates it), and a sanitary shave as a complimentary service if requested.
How long will my pet be alone during in-home pet sitting?
A: I work remotely, so your pet will rarely ever be alone except for times I will be away doing drop-in visits (no more than an hour at a time at most).
What are some important things clients should know when booking with your company?
A: All pets are allowed on furniture and treated as though they are my own pet. I do not kennel my dogs, but I do have a couple of crates for dogs up to 80lbs if they are used to sleeping in one at night. I have plenty of toys, treats, beds, and blankets but I encourage you to bring any items that would make your pet’s stay feel more comfortable. Food is not provided and needs to be supplied. I utilize a visit report for drop-in visits and daycare so pet parents can know how the visit went. I also like to send picture updates as well.
